Entry & Interior Doors

Doors That Seal Tight, Swing True and Last

A door is one of the hardest-working parts of your home — it has to look great, lock securely, and keep New England weather where it belongs. BDaniel General Construction Corp installs and replaces exterior and interior doors across Massachusetts, from energy-efficient front entry doors to patio sliders, storm doors and everyday interior doors.

The difference between a door that sticks, drafts and rattles and one that closes with a solid, satisfying click is almost always the installation. We frame, shim, level and insulate every opening so the door hangs perfectly plumb, seals against air and water, and operates smoothly for years — not just on the day it goes in.

FAQ

Door Installation Questions

Should I choose a steel, fiberglass or wood entry door?

Steel is affordable and secure, fiberglass is durable and low-maintenance with great insulation, and wood offers the richest look but needs more upkeep. We’ll walk you through the trade-offs for your entry and climate.

Can you replace just the door, or do I need a new frame too?

If your existing frame is square and sound, we can often replace just the slab or the pre-hung unit. If the frame is rotted or out of square, we’ll recommend replacing it so the new door seals and operates properly.

How long does it take to install a door?

A standard entry or interior door is usually a single-day job. Patio doors, custom sizes or openings that need framing repairs can take longer — we’ll give you a clear timeline up front.

Will a new exterior door help with drafts and energy bills?

Yes. A properly installed, well-insulated door with good weatherstripping can noticeably reduce drafts and heat loss compared to an old, poorly sealed one.

Do you install patio and sliding glass doors?

Absolutely — sliding, French and multi-panel patio doors are one of our most popular upgrades for opening up a home to the backyard.
